OneDrive application not getting open on Windows


If you tries to open OneDrive application on system and the OneDrive app is not getting open, then follow these 2 settings.


1) Group Policy Editor Setting.

 

1.Run Group Policy Editor as an administrator.

2.Navigate to Local Computer Policy ➡ Computer Configuration ➡ Administrative Templates ➡ Windows Components ➡ OneDrive.

3.In the right pane, double-click policy named Prevent the usage of OneDrive for file storage.



4.Click the "Not configured" Radio Button



5.Click apply and OK button.

 

Now Try to open OneDrive....


If the Group Policy Method doesn't work, then go for second setting.


2) Registry Editor Setting.

 

1. Press Windows + R at the same time, and type “regedit” into the box.

2. Go to the following registry directory:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive

3. Right-click the registry entry named “DisableFileSyncNGSC”, select Modify, and enter 0 into the Value data box, then click OK.

4. Open Command Prompt as an administrator, type the following commands:

OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall

OneDriveSetup.exe /install

 

Now your OneDrive could be reinstalled completely, the icon missing issue should be solved.
